Dear Parents;

Welcome back to school! As we approach the end of our 1st Semester, 1/20/12, please keep the following information in mind: 

Semester report cards will be sent home 1/27/12. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.

Basketball season begins this month. Students in grades 4th through 8th interested in playing can now sign up in the office. Practices for the "2012" BB season begins this Friday from 6:00-8:00pm in the big gym and on Saturday from 2:00-4:00pm in the small gym. A practice schedule will be sent home and posted on our website:www.renochristianacademy.net   A game schedule, once finalized, will be given to the players. Any parents interested in helping with practices or coaching, contact Coach Viola.

January 16th, school will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

February 20th, school will be closed in observance of President’s Day.

Be Advised....The Boys and Girls club aftercare program will be closed on February 23rd & 24th. All students must be picked up at 3:00 on both days.

Our annual Science Fair will take place on Friday, March 2nd from 5:30-8:00. This event will be in conjunction with a fundraiser dinner sponsored by the 8th grade.

EMERGENCY CLOSURE OF RCA: The decision to close school during unusual weather conditions is generally made and announced on the early morning news (around 6:30am). Please keep in mind that if Washoe County Schools are closed due to snow/ice then we are closed. RCA does not have a delayed start time. In the event Washoe Co. Schools close during the school day due to inclimate weather, RCA will close as well. Please refer to the RCA handbook for questions/answers regarding our Emergency Closure policy.

As a reminder, Reno Christian Academy is supported entirely on student tuition, donations and gifts from our parents and community. With this, all accounts must be paid up to date (1/2 of your tuition) by the end of our first semester in order for your child to continue into the second semester.
