Dear RCA Families,
As you know, every Chapel, we take an offering to bless another ministry. We encourage the children to give generously to others as an act of love to our Lord Jesus. I wanted to give you an update on those we have been able to bless.
In October, we gave $185.00 to Joni and Friends, Wheels for the World. This ministry helps those in need of wheel chairs and families who care for the disabled.
In December, we were able to give the Blue Star Mothers a check for $185.00. We also wrote nearly 200 Christmas cards to men and women in the military from our area that were deployed during Christmas. This included all grades.
During December, we collected 315 pounds of canned goods for Evelyn Mount's food ministry. The classes competed and First Grade won with 112 pounds. Way to go, First Grade!
In February, we gave $175.00 to Gabby Gouldsmith's family. Gabby is seven years old and diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare blood disorder in which the body's bone marrow does not make enough new blood cells. Her body can't tolerate germs. Since June, she has had a bone marrow transplant from her brother, and chemotherapy. They also have to take monthly trips to Oakland to the Children's Hospital and Research Center.
Besides all this, each month we are learning about a new gift from God. Every class is putting it into action in some unique way. It has been exciting to see all the different ways we can demonstrate God's gifts.
During February, we are reaching out in love to the homeless children in our community. We will be donating Pillow Pets or money to make fleece blankets for older children.
We may be a small school, but in God's eyes, it only takes one person who is willing to share, and be Jesus to others.
Thank you for your support!
In His Service,
Jennifer Prada
Chapel Coordinator
